Email Friend Contact Author (eTradeWire.Org) – We’ve all seen spam accounts on Twitter which do nothing but blast as many links as possible to us in the hope that we’ll click through and buy something, however one company has some good news on the horizon regarding Twitter spam.
Web traffic and promotion agency uSocial.net – the web’s first company to have offered their clients the ability to buy Twitter followers – has recently completed a study which they say shows that while Twitter spam has hit its peak, it’s not likely to continue growing any further. “Most of Twitter’s security measures are not what they could be when it comes to preventing spam, though they are quite good at keeping down the number of accounts per user,” said uSocial.net CEO Leon Hill. “Because of this, spammers are only allowed to own limited accounts which means the growth of such activities can’t increase much more.” uSocial says that Twitter impose limits of around 3 accounts per user which means that users can’t continue creating an unlimited amount in order to conduct marketing. “We ran a few tests to prove this point over about four weeks and in just about all cases, when we’d created more than three accounts on one IP address, we were not able to continue any further.” Continued Hill. If correct as uSocial claim, the news could come as a fresh breath of air to those of us who are sick of being bombarded with Twitter spam. Definitely good news providing the theory holds up.
