(eTradeWire.Org) – Cambodia is set to lay the groundwork for its first commodities exchange approximately on July, the Indian and Nepalese group which is driving the initiative, known as Mex Cambodia alias Cambodian Mercantile Exchange Plc. The Commodities Futures exchange has been registered with the ministry of Commerce in January 2010, and planed to operate in july 2010, the Mex Cambodia Commodity futures exchange will operate like similar commodity exchanges around worldwide announced by the Mex Cambodia commodities futures exchange Chief Executive Officer Mr.Shafeequr Rahman. The Cambodian Mercantile Exchange for commodities futures exchange is an online commodity futures trading Exchange market place for Cambodia Traders.

Similar kind of Commodity Futures exchange in Nepal has been already instituted by the Mex Cambodia Commodity futures Exchange team. The Mex Cambodia Commodity Futures Exchange’s business plan is to improve price transparency and fairness where futures in commodities would be traded five days in a week around the clock for international Commodities. And on commodities from local markets operations would have a limited trading period.

Trading might occurs at the clearing member level in the idea of clearing members are immediate counterpart of the market to provide liquidity.

Mex Cambodia the online Commodity futures Exchange will charge some minimum amount as membership fee for involvement in the exchange.

Mex Cambodia the online Commodity Futures Exchange is currently involved in discussions of partnering with ACLEDA Bank and ANZ Royal of Cambodia, as part of the clearing process. ACLEDA bank might be the most appropriate partner for the project for the reason that it has nationwide branch networks reaching local areas.

Tuesday, the Som Yen director of Malai Trading Co, said that the new commodities exchange would help promote agricultural produce and sustain prices. If this company realizes the initiative, “I believe that farmers will benefit from it and will gain broader markets for their agricultural produce”.
